Rameshwaram Ram Setu Raksha Manch, is organizing a nation-wide three-hour ”rasta roko” on Wednesday, the 12th September demanding the government to desist destroying Ram Setu. Activists of the Manch will organize a three-hour ”rasta roko” agitation from 8.00 am to 11.00 am to protest the demolition of the bridge.
The decision to go-ahead with agitation was taken at a meeting recently held at Rameshwaram where more than 20,000 devotees, including a host of religious leaders participated in the Manch meeting.
the protection of the ‘ancient’ Ram’s bridge is not only associated with the religious sentiments, but also necessary for protection of the huge thorium deposits around it.
Normal traffic has been disrupted in many parts of the country due to the VHP Bajrang Dal sponsored nationwide four-hour chakka jam, in the national capital, vehicles were stranded in rush hour traffic in several parts.
Workers of major Hindu organization like Vishwa hindu parisad (VHP), Rashtriya swayamsevak sangh (RSS), Bharatiy janta party (BJP), Bajrang dal launch nationwide protest against govt nod to Sethusamudram project in all major cities and villages of India. Workers block all main road, highways and check posts in cities and villages of all Indian, workers recommend and request peoples to save Ram setu Bridge, Many workers are arrested by police. Police Leave them after 12:00 PM.
