Mauli Dave, First Gujarati album- Prabhu tare pagathiye

Omkar and Mauli, children of Dipti and Hemant Dave produced their first audio CD named ‘Praphu Tare Pagathiye’. This CD contains most of the Bhajans in Gujarati with one Bhajan in Hindi. The CD starts with Shloka for Lord Shiva and ends with Vaishnavajan To Tene Re Kahiye.the well known Bhajan by Narasinh Mehta.

The music has been composed by Omkar. Music arrangement is also by Omkar. Mauli, Omkar, and Hemant have provided the vocals. The chorus is provided by Sanvari, Jalaj, and Kajari.

The audio CD was recorded in June, 2006 at Mrudang Studio, Ahmedabad.

Omkar and Mauli come from a family having strong background of music, dance, and drama.
Dipti Dave, the mother, has learned Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi in Ahmedabad and is teaching classical dance since 26 years. Dipti’s father, Shankarrai Dave, was active member of “Javanika Thaters” in Ahmedanbad and acted in many plays.
Hemant Dave, the father, is a well known singer in Houston. Hemant’s father, Mahendra Dave, was a radio singer in Baroda radio and mother, Sumati Dave, did her diploma in classical instrumental (Dilruba) from Baroda Music College.

The Dave family has their own family music band named “Swar Malika” since year 2000.

Omkar Dave Biography (Mauli Dave’s elder Brother)

23 years old.
Studying in 2nd year of Medical School, UTMB Galveston.
Did undergraduate with Bio-Chemistry as Major and Music as minor.
Did his ‘Arangetram’ in Bharatnatyam classical dancing in the year 1998 at Ahmedabad.
Tall, handsome with passion for music composition, singing, dancing, acting.
Plays Harmonium, Key board (piano), Tabla, Dholak, Mrudangam.
Omkar plays Mrudangam during ‘Arangetram’ of Dipti’s students.
Already working on his compositions for an album in Hindi.

Mauli Dave biography

19 years old.
Studying in 2nd year of college at University of Houston with ‘Graphic Communications’ as major.
Did her ‘Rangapravesham’ in Kuchipudi classical dancing in the year 1999 at Ahmedabad. Mauli learned Bharatnatyam from her mother Dipti Dave.
Was finalist in ‘Boogie Woogie, Chalo America’. dance competition organized by Sony TV in the year 2003.
Choreographs the dances and teaches.
Tall, Beautiful, with passion for Singing, Dancing, Acting.
Mauli sings live during ‘Arangetram’ of Dipti’s students.
In August, 2006, during participation in NRI Antakshari organized by Annu Kapoor, Mauli’s singing talent was much appreciated by all the visiting members from Mumbai. Annu Kapoor expressed that she has lots of potential and deserves better platform.
Wants to become playback singer and desires to have her music video album.
