Applications are invited for the TANCET 2007 to be conducted by Anna University on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 26 th and 27 th May 2007 from candidates who seek admission to 1.M.B.A., 2.M.C.A. A\and 3.M.E./M.Tech.,/ M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2007-2008 offered at University Departments of Anna University Govt. Engg. And Arts and Science Colleges , Govt. Aided Engg. and Arts and Science Colleges , and Govt. quota in self-financing Engg., Arts and Science Colleges / stand alone institutions. Some universities may opt to admit the students on the basis of TANCET.

Other State candidates can write these entrance tests but admission is subject to the eligibility conditions of the admitting authority/university.

ELIGIBILITY :

1. MBA : A pass in any Degree (10+2+3) pattern
2. MCA : A pass in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 10+2+3 years duration in any discipline with core Mathematics at +2 school level (Or) Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.
3. M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan.:

Those who are appearing for final year/semester examination in April/May 2007 can also apply for TANCET 2007

APPLICATION FORM is common for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application form. The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for Tamil Nadu SC /ST Candidates on production of a copy of Community Certificate) for getting an application form which will be the examination fee for any one of the programmes of Community Certificate ) for getting an application form which will be the examination fee for for any one of the programmes either (1) MBA or (2) MCA or (3) M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan. if, the candidates desires to attend more than one Entrance Test for every additional Programme, he/she has to enclose n additional Demand Draft for Rs.300/- for general (Rs.150/- for TamilNadu SC/ST candidates) along with he filled in application form.

Common Entrance Test application forms can be obtained 1) in person (or) 2) by post.

• IN PERSON : Application forms can be had IN PERSON on payment of cash of Rs.150/- for Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates on production of a copy of community certificate for examination fee concession and Rs.300/- for general from the selected branches of the Karur Vysys Bank Ltd., (addresses of the branch are given in the bottom of this advertisement) and by Demand Draft from the following coordinating Centers:
  • Examination centre, Anna University , Chennai, 2. Govt College of Technology, Coibatore, 3. Thiagarajar College of Engg. Madurai , 4. Govt. College of Engg. Salem , 5. Bishop Heber College , Trichy, 6. Govt College of Engg. Tirunvelveli.

Online Hall Ticket will be issued to the candidates who can come in person to the examination Centre, Anna University with a passport size photograph and Demand Draft for the required amount towards examination fee.

• BY POST : By sending a Demand Draft for Rs.330/- for general and Rs.180/- for Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates with a copy of Community Certificate alongwith a requisition letter and self addressed slip to the Secretary, TANET Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai 600 025.

All the demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University , payable at Chennai obtained from any nationalized bank on or after 08.04.2007.

• Commencement of issue of application form in Person through coordinating centers/Bank counters*/by post : 12.04.2007
• Last date for issue of application form other than Chennai city and by post : 30.04.2007.
• Last date of for issue of application form and receipt of filled in application form in person at Examination Centre, Anna University , Chennai 25 : 05.05.2007

The completed application forms should reach The Secretary, TANCET 2007, Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai 600 025 on or before 05.05.2007 by 5.30 PM
